सगरमाथा भारतमा : भारतीय राजदूत

नयाँ पत्रिका काठमाडौं, ८ असार
दक्षिण कोरियास्थित भारतीय राजदूत विष्णु प्रकाशले सगरमाथा भारतमा रहेको अभिव्यक्ति दिएपछि कूटनीतिक क्षेत्रमा हलचल भएको छ । उनले भारत र चीनको सिमानामा विश्वको सर्वोच्च शिखर सगरमाथा रहेको भन्दै अन्तर्वार्ता दिएपछि नेपाल सरकारले कडा प्रतिवाद गरेको छ ।

कोरिया टाइम्सलाई अन्तर्वार्ता दिँदै राजदूत विष्णु प्रकाशले सगरमाथाको चर्चा गरेका छन् । तर, नेपालको नामसमेत लिएका छैनन् । ‘भारतको उत्तरपूर्वी भाग चीनसँग जोडिएको सगरमाथा सुन्दर र आकर्षक छ,’ उनले भनेका छन् । त्यसैले कोरियाका पयर्टक भारत भ्रमण गर्नुपर्ने उनको तर्क छ । पत्रिकाले उनलाई भारत किन भ्रमणयोग्य छ भन्ने प्रश्न गरेको थियो ।

भारतीय राजदूतको उक्त अभिव्यक्तिप्रति आपत्ति जनाउँदै नेपाल सरकारले प्रतिवाद गरेको छ । ‘भारतीय राजदूत विष्णु प्रकाशको अभिव्यक्ति कुनै हालतमा हामीलाई मान्य हुँदैन । यो अभिव्यक्ति फिर्ता लिन कूटनीतिक च्यानलबाट हामीले आग्रह गरिसकेका छौ,’ परराष्ट्र मन्त्रालयका एक उच्च अधिकारीले नयाँ पत्रिकासित भने, ‘सगरमाथा भारतमा पर्ने खालका आसय दिने भारतीय कूटनीतिज्ञको अभिव्यक्तिको हामीले खण्डन गरिसकेका छौँ । यसबाट दक्षिण कोरियाबाट सगरमाथा चढ्न नेपाल आउने पर्यटकलाई बिच्काउने प्रयास सहज रूपमा बुझ्न सकिन्छ ।’

Ladies and Gentlemen!

It is a great pleasure and honour for me to extend the warmest greetings and best wishes on behalf of the Government and the people of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, the land of Mt. Everest and the birthplace of the Gautam Buddha, to the Government and the people of Brazil for making this generational summit on sustainable development a success. Let me also express my gratitude to Her Excellency Madame Dilma Rousseff, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, for the warm welcome and generous hospitality accorded to me and my delegation ever since we arrived in this beautiful and historic city of Rio as well as for the exemplary leadership in steering this Conference.

Mr. Chairman,

Twenty years after the historic Earth Summit, we are meeting here in this beautiful city, to take stock of progress that we have made and the challenges that remain to be addressed in realizing the vital goals of sustainable development. This is an opportunity to all of us for a true reflection of our past actions and commitments for future.

दसगजा छेउको पिलर एसएसबिले भत्कायो

निर्मल घिमिरे, बर्दिया, असार ३- भारतीय सीमा सुरक्षा बलले गुलरिया नपा-१२ टेपरीस्थित गायत्रि सामुदायिक वनका उपभोक्ताले लगाएको पिलर र तार भत्काएको छ। दसगजादेखि करिब १५ मिटरभित्र नेपाली भूमिमा लगाएको २ सय वटा पिलर र काडे तार भत्काएको हो। सीमामा रहेको सामुदायिक वन असुरक्षित महसुस गरेपछि वनको स्रोतले पिलर गाडेर उपभोक्ताले सिमाकंन गरेका थिए।

नेपालको भूमिमा पर्ने हुनाले पिलर गाडेर वनलाई सुरक्षित गरेका थियौं, सामुदायिक वनका एक उपभोक्ताले भने, ‘भारतीय प्रहरीले नेपाली भूमिमा लगाएको पिलर भत्काएर ज्यादति गरेको छ।’ हामीले संरक्षण गरेको वनमा लगाएको पिलर भत्काएर भारतीय पक्षको अतिक्रमण गर्ने योजना भएको उनले बताए। रातिको समयमा ठूलो दलबलसहित आएर उक्त सामुदायिक वनको पिलर भत्काएको स्थानीयले बताए। नेपाली भूमिमा लगाएको पिलर भत्काउँदा उपभोक्ता त्रसित भएका छन्। हामीलाई विभिन्न बाहानामा सीमा बस्ने प्रहरीले दुःख दिइरहँदासमेत स्थानीय प्रशासनले बेवास्ता गरेको स्थानीयको आरोप छ। पोल भत्काएको विरोधमा स्थानीय उत्रेको खबरपछि एसएबीले सीमा आवाजावतमा कडाइ गरेको थियो।

 

इलाका वन कार्यालय, खैरापुरको तथ्याकं अनुसार २ सय पिलर उखालेर फालेको छ भने ४० वटा तोडफोड गरेको छ। नेपाली भूमिमा वन बचाउन उपभोक्ताले सीमांकन गरेको पिलर भत्काएको सहायक वन अधिकृत रामजतन शाहले बताए। इलाका वन कार्यालयकै इजाजत लिएर उपभोक्ताले सिमेन्टको पिलर र तारबार गरेको उनले जानकारी दिए।’ भारतीय पक्षको गरेको गैर जिम्मेवारपूर्ण काम हो, ‘उनले भने, ‘नेपाली भूमिमा रहेको सामुदायिक वनको फेन्सिङ फाल्नु भनेको कुनै सानो कुरा होइन।’ के कति कारणले भत्काएको बारेमा मुर्तीहास्थित वन अधिकारी संग सोध्दा सीमा नजिक भएकाले फाल्न लगाएको भारतीय पक्षले जवाफ दिएको उनले बताए।

TALKING THE BUDDHA BIRTH PLACE : MISINFORMING PEOPLE TO GLORIFY A NATION IS WRONG

But the speaker in the video below, Professor Kailash Chandra Dash, who himself comes from Orissa, says those were forged (his)stories to glorify Orissan as well as Indian peoples. And he added that the Indian scholars and historians should have interpreted historical information or data more scientifically, rather than any ‘nationalistic zeal’. The two edicts from Paderia and Nigliva were edited by G.Buhler on the basis of the inked estampages furnished by their discoverer, Dr. A. A. Fuhrer who found the second in March 1895 and the first in December 18961. Both came from the Nepal Terai, where Nigliva was situated 38 miles north west of the Uska Bazar station of the Bengal and the North-Western Railway in the Nepalese tahsil Taulihva of the Zillah Bataul. Paderia was two miles north of the Nepalese tahsil Bhagvanpur of the same Zillah and according to Dr Fuhrer`s estimate about thirteen miles from Nigliva2. Both were incised on mutilated stone pillars and the Paderia edict which was found three feet below the surface of the ground was in a state of perfect preservation while that of Nigliva had suffered a great deal on the left side and had lost the first five letters of line three as well as the first seven of line four3.

Rummindei inscription) was found in Kapileswar of Bhubaneswar, the present capital of Odisha4. This stone inscription(Silaphalaka) was brought to public notice by Haran Chandra Chakaldar of Calcutta university and it was procured in about March 1928 by Birendranath Ray for his museum at Puri from the village of Kapileswar5. It created a belief that Buddha was born in Kapiavastu which was near Kapileswar of Bhubaneswar as the said edict contains the message of the birthplace of Gautam Buddha in Lumbini which was not far away from Kapilavastu. Thus this inscription from Kapileswar of Bhubaneswar arrested the attention of the historians and the archaeologists of India and abroad. In this paper I have proposed to make a comparative study of the two sets of Ashokan edicts from Paderia and Nigliva with Kapileswar inscription to justify the legitimacy of the inscriptions found from Nepal and to establish the fake nature of the Kapileswar grant on the basis of new findings and interpretations.

Only woman to get Nobel Prize for economics dies

[Mourning the passing away of Prof. Elinor Ostrum, a Nobel laureate in economics, who had done important research in local management of irrigation system in Nepal in early nineties. Her research finding that farmers were better manager than the government are among the ideas that have shaped view on the model of federalism for Nepal. ]

INDIANAPOLIS — Elinor Ostrom, an Indiana University political scientist who is the only woman to have been awarded a Nobel Prize in economics, died Tuesday. She was 78.

Ostrom, who won a share of the 2009 prize for her research into how people overcome selfish interests to successfully manage natural resources, died of pancreatic cancer at IU Health Bloomington Hospital, said Michael McGinnis, a friend and colleague who was at her bedside when she died.

Ostrom’s husband, Vincent Ostrom, who is 93 years old and suffers from dementia, was brought to her room after she passed away, McGinnis said

“He was able to say goodbye to her and see that she was gone. I think he understood. It was very touching,” McGinnis said.

Ostrom, who along with her husband founded IU’s Workshop in Political Theory and Policy Analysis in 1973, remained active in her research even after learning she had cancer late last year, said McGinnis, the workshop’s current director. He said she had traveled to Mexico this spring only a couple of weeks before her final hospitalization.

Nepal Made Trilok Helicopter

After a long period of 18 months Anil Gautam who is working on a furniture store have successfully completed a Helicopter made with Engine of 200 CC Pulsar Bike. He said, ‘ I was working on my extra time of my work and i am really proud that i have done it’. It took about 30 Lakha NRS till the completion of this Helicopter and he named it as Trilok Air. Anil is from Rupandahi district and he is very happy for his supportive brother, family and friends who helped him to complete his Project successfully.

There are many such creative guys in Nepal but due to the lack of supportive government they are missing opportunities. Anil had only completed his study till class 4 and came to Kathmandu eight years ago. He is ready to fly his Helicopter if government grants them permission to fly it on air.

संबिधानसभा बिघटन सेरोफेरोका केही यक्ष प्रश्नहरु

नेताहरुले अब के बुझ्नु जरुरी छ भने कस्ले कस्को कसरी कति बिरोध गर्छ भन्ने कुराबाट जनता आजित भैसकेका कारण देशको काँचुली फेर्ने स्पस्ट धारणाका अभिब्यक्ति र त्यसप्रतिको प्रतिबद्धता र ठोस कार्य योजना सुन्न आतुर छन जनता र यही कसीमा नेताको मूल्यांकन र बर्गीकरण हुनेछ आगामी दिनमा ।

सबै कुरा मिलिसकेर पनि संघीयताको एउटै मुद्धा सल्ट्याउन नसक्दा दुई वर्ष समयावधि तोकिएको संविधान सभाको कार्यभार चार वर्षमा पनि पुरा हुन नसकी अन्ततः जेठ १४ गते मध्यरातमा विघटन भयो । यस्ले आम नेपाली जनतालाई त चिन्तित तुल्याएको छ नै साथै विस्वको ध्यान पनि तानेको देखिन्छ । संबिधानसभा बिघटन भएको तीन दिनपस्चात राष्ट्रसंघका महासचिव बान कि मुनले एक विज्ञप्तिमार्फत् ‘संविधान जारी नगरी संविधानसभा भंग गरेको’ भन्दै निराशा व्यक्त गरेको भोलिपल्ट मंगलबार राष्ट्रसंघीय सुरक्षा परिषदमा नेपालको शान्ति तथा सुरक्षा अवस्थालाई विशेष चासो दिँदै राजनीतिक स्थितिबारे छलफल समेत गरेको छ । राष्ट्रसंघका राजनीतिक मामिलासम्बन्धी उपमहासचिव बि लिन पास्कोले संविधानसभा विघटनपछिको राजनीतिक स्थितिबारे मंगलबार सुरक्षा परिषदको ‘बन्द सभा’ मा नेपालबारे छलफल भएको विभागको वेबपेज मार्फत जानकारी गराएका हुन् । संविधान निर्माण नगरी संविधानसभा विघटन हुनुलाई अमेरिका र बेलायतले शान्ति र संविधानको प्रक्रियामा ‘गम्भीर धक्का’ र ‘पछाडि फर्किएको अवस्था’ भन्दै आगामी दिनमा सहमतिका साथ अघि बढ्न सुझाव दिएका छन् । जेठ १४ गते संबिधान जारी गर्न सकेको भए नेपाल संबिधान सभा मार्फत संबिधान जारी गर्ने एक्काइसौं शताब्दीकै पहिलो राष्ट्र बन्न पुग्थ्यो । अब चुनाव भएर त्यस्ले संबिधान जारी गरेको खण्डमा अहिलेका कति सभासदहरु त्यो अबसरबाट बन्चित हुने मात्रै नभएर जनताको नजरमा कालो सूचिमा पनि पर्ने छन् ।

बहुप्रतिक्षित जेठ १४ को रातको १२ बज्नुभन्दा केही घण्टा अघि मधेसबादी दल र जनजाति ककसद्धारा लचकता अपनाउने संकेतपछि संबिधान जारी हुने आशाले आफ्नो पल्ला भारी बनाउन सफल भएको थियो र नेपाली शेयर बजारमा तत्कालै करोडौंको कारोबार भएको थियो । त्यस्को केही समय अघि मात्रै के पी ओली भित्र बाहिर गर्ने क्रममा संबिधान नबन्ने कुराको ठोकुवा जस्तै गर्दै थिए । प्रयास त्यसरी जारी भैरहंदा त्यस किसिमको ठोकुवा जस्तो गर्ने ब्यक्ति बाहिर निस्केर पुन: भित्र नपसेकै भए वार्ताले अर्को मोड लिन्थ्यो कि भन्ने तर्क पनि आएका छन । र, अन्तमा आ-आफ्ना अड्डीका कारण वार्ताले ठोस रुप लिन नसकेपछि पनि सिंहदरबरमा रहेका वार्ता टोली संसद भवन बानेश्वर गएर १२ बज्नु अघि नै संसद शुरु गरेपछि प्रकृया शुरु भएका कारण संसदको आयु संसद चलुन्जेलसम्मका लागि लम्बिने तर्क पनि आएका छन जस्ले संबिधान बनाउने समयाबधि प्राबिधिक तवरबाट लम्ब्याउन सक्थ्यो । संविधानसभाका अध्यक्ष नेम्वाङले अन्तिम समयमा वैठक बोलाउन दलका शीर्ष नेताहरुले गरेको आग्रह अस्वीकार गरे । फलत: बैठक नै नबसी संविधानसभा भंग हुन पुग्यो । एक किसिमले सन्तुलित सभामुखको भूमिका निर्बाह गरेको मानिएका सभामुखको यो एउटै कार्यले बनेको छबी आँफैले धमिल्याउने काम भएको देखिन्छ । अन्तिम घडीमा संभाबित सबै संभाबनाहरु प्रयास गरिनुको अलावा यसरी यस्तो महत्वपूर्ण घडीमा सो संभाबनाबाट पन्छिनुको अर्थ के हुन सक्ला त ? यी सबै अब सुधार्न नसकिने किसिमले ईतिहास बनिसकेकोले अब बर्तमानको जटील अबस्थाबाट देशलाई कसरी निकास दिने भन्नेतिर नै सबैको ध्यान केन्द्रित हुनुपर्दछ अर्थहीन आरोप प्रत्यारोपमा समय बर्बाद गर्नुभन्दा पनि ।

बुद्ध नेपालमा जन्मिएको प्लेकार्ड सहित जर्मनको कार्निभल भेस्टिभमा नेपाली आकर्षण

अनिल बानियाँ, बर्लिन – सधै ब्यस्त रहने जर्मनमा अध्ययनरत नेपाली बिद्यार्थीहरु पहिलो पटक कार्निभल फेस्टमा सहभागी भए। राष्ट्रिय पोसाक दौरा, सुरुवाल, गुन्यौ, चोली र विभिन्न जातीय भेष भुषामा सजिएका नेपाली बिद्यार्थीहरु अरुका लागि आकर्षणका केन्द्र थिए। १७ बर्ष देखि जर्मनमा मनाइदै आइएको फेस्टमा नेपालको तर्फबाट पहिलो पटक औपचारीक सहभागिता जनाइएको हो। जर्मनमा रहेको बिदेशीले आ-आफ्नो कला र संस्कृति प्रदर्शन गर्न यस्तो कार्यक्रम सालै पिच्छे आयोजना गरिन्छ। हातहातमा नेपाली ‘झन्डा बोकेर मादलको तालमा नाँचेका नेपाली बिद्यार्थीहरु फेस्टमा सहभागी ५० देशका प्रतिनिधि भन्दा बेग्लै देखिन्थे। त्यसैले सबैको नजर नेपाली प्रस्तुतीमा परेको थियो। बिद्यार्थीले देखाएको लाखे नाच सबैको लागि प्रिय बन्यो। ‘Buddha was born in Nepal’ लेखिएको प्लेकार्ड बोकेर फेस्टमा सहभागी बिजय पुरी भन्दै थिए ‘बुद्ध सम्बन्धी भ्रमलाई चिर्न सफल भइयो।’ यत्रो देशका प्रतिनिधिबीचमा आफ्नो देशको पहिचान गराउनपाउँदा गौरावानुभूति भएको उनले सुनाए।

Ming Kipa – the Youngest Person to Climb Mt. Everest

Ming Kipa is a Nepalese Sherpa girl who (as recorded in the 2009 Guinness Book of Records) held the record as the youngest person to climb Mount Everest from 2003 to 2010. She reached the summit on May 24, 2003 when she was 15 years old, with her brother Mingma Gyula and her sister Laphka. Nepalese law does not allow climbers under 16 to climb Everest, so Ming Kipa Sherpa summitted Everest from the Chinese side. Her record was broken in 2010 when Jordan Romero reached the summit on May 22nd of that year at the age of 13 years, 10 months. The previous record holder was Temba Tsheri who climbed Everest at the age of 16 in 2001.
