Promoting Visit Lumbini Year 2012 in Beijing

Hari Shrestha, Beijing: The Promotion Office of Visit Lumbini Year (VLY)-2012 has been set up in Beijing, the Capital of China.
The Office established with the support from the Yunjutemple Charity Foundation was inaugurated amidst a ceremony last Wednesday.
Culture Minister Gopal Kiranti, Nepali Ambassador to China Tanka Prasad Karki, an official of the Chinese State Council Office and the Vice Chairperson of Lumbini Development Trust, were present at the inauguration session.
The establishment of the Office is expected to consolidate the cultural ties between Nepal and China, support in increasing the number of Chinese tourists visiting Nepal and contribute to the economic development of Nepal, said the National Secretariat of the VLY-2012.
Similarly, on the occasion bilateral discussions on the matters relating to organizing the Nepali Fair at the end of this year and holding a cultural assembly on the occasion of the Budda Purnima were also held.
According to the Secretariat, preparations were underway to set up other promotion offices in India, Thailand, South Korea, Japan and the United States of America as well.
