When majority of Nepal’s beauty queens return empty hand from international beauty pageants, one stunning Nepali beauty queen has bagged the Miss Best Personality title at Miss Tourism Queen International 2011 held in Xi’an, China recently.
Samriddhi Rai, the former editor of Teenz magazine, was successful in bringing the title of Best Personality Award home from the prestigious international pageant held from December 13 to 29, 2011.
This is the first time that any Nepali woman has won a title in an international beauty pageant after Ayusha Shrestha won the World Miss University in Seoul, Korea in 2003.
The pageant held at Quijian International Exhibition Center, Xi’an had hundreds of participants representing different countries from all over the world.
Samriddhi, a graduate in journalism and media studies, was selected for Miss Tourism Queen Nepal a year ago after her surprising loss in Miss Nepal 2010.
A national-level basketball player, a model and a freelance writer, Samriddhi was also second runner up in Miss Teen 2006. She has also done a short cameo in Alok Nembang’s first movie Sano Sansar.
