Miss Nepal Malina Joshi is WWF’s Young Conservation Ambassador

24 NOV, KATHMANDU. WWF Nepal formally welcomed Miss Nepal-World 2011, Malina Joshi as the sixth Young Conservation Ambassador for WWF Nepal amidst a function organized in Kathmandu on 24 November 2011.
“It is indeed a pleasure to welcome Malina as our sixth Young Conservation Ambassador. I am hopeful that Malina will be able to take the message of biodiversity conservation amongst the younger generation. I would also like to acknowledge with gratitude, Sadichha’s commitment and contribution for biodiversity conservation during her tenure as WWF’s Young Conservation Ambassador” said Anil Manandhar, Country Representative of WWF Nepal.
“I really value this association and I would, in the best possible way, use this opportunity to raise awareness on conservation issues,” said Malina, the newly appointed Young Conservation Ambassador. During my tenure I will be involved with the species conservation program specifically the Zero Poaching Campaign for tigers in Terai Arc Landscape and in learning about climate change and later sharing the message with the rural communities in the Sacred Himalayan Landscape”, added Malina.
WWF Nepal started the Young Conservation Ambassador program from 2004 and since then Payal Shakya, Sugarika KC, Sitashma Chand, Zenisha Mocktan and Sadichha Shrestha have contributed to disseminating the message of conservation through word and deed.
